Title: National Solidarity against Sexual Exploitation of Women – January Activities Update
The National Solidarity, a coalition of organizations actively engaged in anti-prostitution movements across 13 regions nationwide, is committed to addressing the issue of prostitution. The coalition opposes the violence and sexual exploitation of women involved in prostitution and actively supports and engages in activities to empower women. Starting this year, we plan to provide brief updates on the coalition’s activities in English, so please stay tuned for more information.
In January, the National Solidarity undertook various activities. Particularly noteworthy was the recognition received at the Women’s Organization Alliance General Assembly for significant achievements in 2023. The award is aptly named the “Water Droplet Piercing the Stone Award.” Over the past two decades, the coalition has been actively involved in the anti-prostitution movement. In 2023, the coalition played a crucial role in advocating for the amendment of prostitution laws through the Campaign for Amending Prostitution Laws, with a primary focus on decriminalizing women engaged in prostitution. The coalition successfully crafted and promoted legislative changes, along with various initiatives to raise awareness. The award symbolizes the solidarity and support for our movement, expressing the belief that our efforts will undoubtedly make a significant impact. With a renewed commitment to piercing through obstacles, the National Solidarity against Sexual Exploitation of Women will continue its dedicated activities throughout the year!
