National Solidarity against Sexual Exploitation of Women – April Activities Update(24.04)

Title: National Solidarity against Sexual Exploitation of Women-Activities – April Activities Update

From April 17th to 21st, the National Solidarity conducted a fieldwork to Japan. We walked through the districts of Kabukicho and Yoshiwara, examining the realities of prostitution in Japan. Through meetings and seminars with Collabo, as well as discussions with ‘Groups addressing sex trade in Japan’, we gained insights into the legal and institutional framework surrounding prostitution in Japan. It was an opportunity to understand both the similarities and differences in the realities of sexual exploitation between Korea and Japan and to discuss directions for future collaboration.

In May, building on these discussions, we will hold Korea-Japan meeting regarding the recent issues surrounding ‘sex festival’ in Korea. It will serve as a platform for deliberating and collaborating on issues related to the exploitative AV industry. Please continue to show interest in the international solidarity activities of the National Solidarity against Sexual Exploitation of Women-Activities.
